Tarot cards have been used to gain access to the spiritual plain for centuries. A modern tarot deck has 78 cards and can be used for predicting the future or to seek guidance from spirits when seeking solutions to problems through tarot readings.
Tarot (or Tarok) cards came from Ancient Egypt and were brought to Europe by Romanies who first settled in Marseille, France. After being used for centuries there, their use became more widespread and their popularity as a method of divination soared. There is evidence that they were used in Italy as early as the Thirteen Hundreds.
The deck can be divided into two easily identifiable groups. The Minor Arcana (56 suit cards that are divided equally into four suits) and the Major Arcana, (22 pictorial symbol cards). The Minor Arcana is very similar to a pack of standard playing cards, with the suits of wands (clubs), cups (hearts), swords (spades), and pentacles (diamonds). As with other areas of our heritage, everything evolves and it is certain that the regular standard deck of playing cards came from these.
Each suit also includes the familiar picture cards (kings, queens, knights, and jacks). The Major Arcana consists of highly symbolic picture cards with their multifarious meanings and significance.
The Major Arcana cards were often compared with (among other things) the natural elements such as water, fire and air. Their fascinating mystical significance and influence has been the source of a great deal of interest not least because of the amazing links they have to astrological theories, when the two are linked together and studied in depth, they become an incredible asset. The earliest Tarot decks were always hand-made, and some were even designed by notable artists.
In readings, either the full pack or just the Major Arcana alone can be used. The relative position of the cards and the relationship of one card to another is crucial and gives the reader vital information about their context. Some of the different configurations used by Michael Francois include the ‘Five Card Spread’ for single question psychic readings, the traditional ‘Celtic Cross’, the ‘Seven Card Spread’, ‘Le Grand Jeu’ and the ‘Astrological Spread’. All of these are used by Michael Francois’ family (which currently consists of 17 active psychics).
The reader shuffles the cards and then places the deck in front of the recipient. The recipient then cuts the deck. After the deck has been cut, the psychic begins to turn the cards face up in a pre-determined pattern. As Michael turns over the cards card, he identifies their significance to the recipient and explains it’s relevance to them. Often Michael will also combine the Tarot with psychic and clairvoyant ‘flashes’.
Having studied Astrology, Psychic Studies and the Tarot from an age when most children have not even started regular school yet, Michael is easily able to interpret the ancient symbols and also use his intuitive psychic sensitivity to tap into the various energies that surround the person along with the issue presented.
These energies, almost like radio or television signals are ever-present and always accessible under the right circumstances.
As a gifted psychic, Michael can understand these various pieces of information and decipher the signals giving the client a thorough and in-depth analysis through his genuine tarot readings.
